Storyline Class

We are very excited to be offering a Scottish Storyline inspired class at Mudpies & Lullabies for the 2012-2013 school year!

The Scottish Storyline Method:

     * Is an integrated, creative, child-centered approach to learning the

         curriculum.

      * Allows students to build on their existing experience and knowledge

        as they explore a variety of topics.

      * Is a partnership between the teacher and student as they explore ideas

         together.

      * Focuses on pupil involvement to be imaginative and creative, and active

         in their own learning.

       * Creates opportunities for students to become characters in in the

          "story" that they create based on the topic being explored.

       * Allows the curriculum to be integrated into a meaningful context within

          a story.

        * Treats learners with respect, as the teacher facilitates the direction

           in which the "story" will evolve.

        * Is a fun way for students to learn!

 The class is taught by Mrs. Mary Dean on Tuesdays and Thursdays and caters to a 'mixed age' class with ages 3 1/2 - 5 year olds.
